We’re committed to supporting nonprofits and organizations doing good things in our community. We invite you to apply for donations!

Your completed application must be received at least 30 days in advance of when the donation is needed in order to be considered. Please read our donation guidelines below before submitting your application.

GUIDELINES

BriarPatch Food Co-op is committed to supporting nonprofits and organizations that do good work in our community. Our commitment to fostering an equitable, vibrant local food system, championing regenerative and sustainable practices, and serving as a welcoming community hub provides the filter for our decisions on which organizations we donate to financially and in-kind.

All donation requests are reviewed equitably and are not on a first-come, first-serve basis. Requests must be made via formal application 30 or more days prior to when the donation is needed. Requests can be made for core operating support or project/event support.

Only one donation per organization per calendar year.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible organizations must: 

Primarily serve Western Nevada County or Placer County. 

Be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization OR a cooperative organization OR a local area school. 

Focus on improving the quality of life of our community, particularly in the following areas: 

  • Social Servies and Food Access
  • Local Area Schools
  • Food Systems & Agriculture
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Local Business & Economy
  • Organizations in Support of Co-ops
  • Community Health & Wellness 
  • Environmental Issues
  • Local Arts & Culture
Ineligible organizations & EVENTS include:
  • Organizations that discriminate based on race, religion, physical or mental disability, sex, gender, age, or sexual orientation 
  • Political groups or those with a strong political agenda
  • Service clubs or fraternal organizations
  • National or state groups 
  • Third-party fundraisers 
  • Private clubs funded through membership fees 
  • Sporting events or sports teams 
  • School extracurricular activities and clubs
  • School fundraisers
  • Individuals
  • Religious Groups

If a requested cash donation is approved, organization agrees to submit a completed and signed Form W-9 and Vendor Form, provided by BriarPatch Food Co-op, within ten (10) business days of notice of approval. Failure to do so will render the donation null and void.(Required)
