We established Apples for Gardens in 2020 with a simple goal of supporting school and community gardens. Over the next six years, the program donated more than $100,000 to local garden projects.

In 2026, that seed of support grew into Apples for Good. By expanding the program beyond gardens, BriarPatch can now invest in a broader range of community-led efforts working to improve food access and strengthen our local food system.

We welcome applications from schools and nonprofits, including new and established programs such as community gardens, food pantries, nutrition education initiatives, and other projects that work toward eliminating food insecurity in our community.

We maintain a rolling application and will choose the program recipients by December for the following year. If there are updates to your program, you are always encouraged to submit an updated application. Apply below!
